Super Nebulus is a 3D remake of clasic 8-bit ascend-'em-up Nebulus.
I worked on Super Nebulus in collaboration with Gary Dowling. Gary handled the majority of the code, whilst I produced the graphics and sound. I also contributed some code to the submarine mini-levels that take place between the main levels.
We decided to use the original Commodore 64 sprite to represent Pogo rather than a new 3D model. There were two reasons for this: Firstly, we liked the idea that Pogo, an old 8-bit game hero had been transported to a modern 3D version of the 1988 game. Secondly, I made a 3D Pogo, and it just didn't have the character and personality of the original sprite.
