2D Game: X-Platoon
Power-up: Mockup of in-game screen, taken from design documentation

For this coursework, we were asked to work in teams of two, to design & create a simple 2D arcade game. I produced the graphics & sound for the game, whilst my partner concentrated on the coding.

We opted for a top-down shooter in the mould of Robotron or Smash TV. We decided to go with a pseudo-3D look by building the characters & objects in 3D, then taking screengrabs of the models to create sprites.

The game was loosely based on characters from classic 2000AD strip "Bad Company". It was re-titled "X-Platoon", at the insistence of my teammate.

I created a player character, a zombie and an alien soldier. to facilitate eight-way movement, each character used 96 frames of animation just for walking.

Sadly, no playable code was produced for this game, as my parner had to return home to china for family reasons.
